The concept of freemakes and taking inspirations from other films is quite common. In Tollywood, the general inspiration is taken from Hollywood but there are times when few Bollywood flicks are also lifted. And the talk now is about the new film ‘Iddaramayilatho’ starring Allu Arjun along with Amala Paul, Catherine and directed by Puri Jagannadh.News is making rounds that this film is an inspiration from the Bollywood movie ‘Cocktail’ starring Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, Diana Penty. The film is a romantic triangle which runs on a serious note with two girls of contrasting personalities. As it is, there is talk that this film doesn’t have any special entertainment quotient like comedy.
If this grapevine is true then it may be a setback. So far, Bunny’s films which had more seriousness than comedy failed to work at the box office. Moreover, it has been a while since Puri has actually scored a big hit worth his caliber and his best hits have always come out of good comedy tracks. Let us see if this is indeed ‘Cocktail’ or Puri has come up with his own cocktail.
